What is Public Property? Any property owned by the government or jointly owned by a whole community of individuals, as opposed to private property, which is owned exclusively by an individual or individuals jointly that do not constitute the whole community. Areas that are dedicated to the use of the public such as: Lane way, Road, street , Park grass verge, side walk, parking lot etc Can I place a skip bin on public property? In each area rules differ, the best thing to do is to contact your local City Office or Township to find out more about the expectations for your area.

They will be able to advise whether you can place a container in the area you are planning on using, and if there is a permit necessary.

 

What is a Permit? A legal document giving official permission to do something, the act of giving a formal (usually written) authorization, a document rendering something allowed or legal; Allowing to happen; a document issued by the regulatory authority that gives approval for the operation.
